Collaboration Games

Collaboration games in agile are interactive activities or exercises that are designed to promote teamwork and collaboration among team members. They are often used in Scrum and other Agile frameworks to improve communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills among team members. Some examples of collaboration games include:

  • Remember the future: "Imagine a successful outcome of the upcoming release and reflect on it, this will give a better understanding of the stakeholders' definition of success, and it will help to outline the steps needed to achieve it for them."
  • Prune the product tree: "Create a visual representation of the project using a tree diagram, have stakeholders contribute by adding their features to it using sticky notes. Organize the features by placing them on the trunk of the tree, and group them according to their dependencies, with the ones dependent on other features being higher up on the tree. This will help everyone understand the priorities of development and the relationships between different features."
  • Speedboat: "Visualize a waterline and a boat in motion during a meeting. Explain that the boat represents the progress of the project towards its goals. Use sticky notes for stakeholders to represent factors that can propel the boat forward (wind) and factors that can impede its progress (anchors). This helps stakeholders identify potential threats and opportunities for the project."

These games are designed to be fun and engaging, and are intended to help team members build trust and strengthen relationships, while also helping them to improve their understanding of Agile practices and principles. Collaboration games can be a valuable tool for improving team dynamics and productivity in an Agile environment.
